I would like to address the "muffin top" that appears with hybernation. For those of you who are not familiar with "muffin top" I provided a picture.
Now this is a typical picture of a woman's "muffin top" which generally occurs when her pants or jeans are getting too tight. This mainly occurs during the hybernation season when the diet consists of candy, chips, diet coke, and more candy. The lack of exercise and increased hours of sleep will generate fat around the waist line which then protrudes out over the pants creating a "muffin top". If the woman is woken up out of her hybernation due to "simulated spring" weather, she sees the "muffin top", panics and is in distress. Summer is coming! ...bathing suits, shorts, BATHING SUITS? This panic state is natural when "simulated spring" occurs. Waking from the hybernation state should not occur until groundhog day. Then she will know exactly how many more weeks she has to awaken from her slumber state.
To help the woman you need to be gentle and compassionate, which may only come from another woman. Assure her that with increasing her exercise and cutting back on the candy and chips with help the situation. Generally, when the woman is nearing 40 it may take more effort. She might want to run a marathon but don't force it if she is not ready. Tell her it is a good idea to set goals and find a friend (preferably not the husband) to run with.
With time and effort the "muffin top" will turn into muscle and she will have that beach body of woman who is nearing 40 always wanted.
